The Piranhas Swim Team The Piranhas

Pine Ridge Swim Club is the proud home of The Piranhas Swim Team.

Our swim team is open to children of swim club members ages 4 to 18 years old. We offer a fun, competitive, summer swimming experience and aim to help our swimmers learn to work together as a team and enjoy the sport of swimming.

Our team competes against local swim clubs in the Freestate Swim League, including Campus Cabana, Eagles Nest, Hampton, Stoneleigh, Valley, Wiltondale, Woodcroft and York Manor. Meets are held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. During home meets, the pool will close at 4:30 p.m. for members.

For those not quite ready for the swim team, swim lessons are available to help prepare children and adults feel comfortable and confident in the water.

Have a question? Feel free to contact us.

Our Swim Team Coaches

Eva Joyce

Head Coach

Eva, her husband, Mark and their 4 children have been a part of the Pine Ridge community for the past 22 years. All 4 of her children have participated on the swim team in past years, and Eva was also a Pine Ridge Piranha in her youth, specializing in the free style and the breaststroke. Eva brings a wealth of teaching, coaching and athletic experience to the team. She has been a Baltimore County Public School teacher for the past 27 years and has many years of experience coaching youth lacrosse and basketball.
An All-American at Loch Raven High School, Eva was a three-sport, 5-time State Championship athlete. In 2017, she was inducted into the Loch Raven Athletic Hall of Fame. Eva went on as a scholarship athlete to play Division I lacrosse at Towson University. After graduating, she immediately began coaching girls youth lacrosse in local recreation programs until coaching her own daughters for the past 18 years. She is currently the head coach for the 2025 FCA Club Lacrosse Team.
Eva’s passion for coaching comes from a love of sports and teaching. Eva believes there is nothing more fulfilling about coaching than seeing progress and hearing her athletes say that they can’t wait to come back next season. “There are so many lessons to be learned in youth sports – winning, losing, teamwork, discipline and accomplishment through effort and perseverance.” Eva is excited to lead the Piranhas through an amazing swim season!!!

Mallory Rossi

Assistant Coach

Mallory Rossi has been married to her husband Tony for 8 years, and has a beautiful 4 year old daughter, Gabriella. Mallory attended Loch Raven High School, where she played soccer and lacrosse. After high school, she received a degree in Early Childhood Education and a masters in Special Education from Towson University and is currently a Pre-K teacher at Woodhome Elementary School in Baltimore City. Way back in 1994, Mallory, her parents, sister joined Pine Ridge Swim Club, which was the same year she became a Pine Ridge Piranha. Besides swimming for the Piranha’s, Mallory competed in year round swimming with the KCO Swim Club. At 16 years old Mallory was hired as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor for Pine Ridge and eventually was promoted to assistant manager. At the same time, Mallory was asked to be the head coach of the Piranha’s, which remains as one of her all-time favorite jobs. Mallory was so excited when the opportunity was presented to re-join the Piranha family this year. She hopes for the children to form lifelong friendships, have fun, and of course, learn to love the sport of swimming just as she once did.
