The Piranhas Swim Team The Piranhas

Pine Ridge Swim Club is the proud home of The Piranhas Swim Team.

Our swim team is open to children of swim club members ages 4 to 18 years old. We offer a fun, competitive, summer swimming experience and aim to help our swimmers learn to work together as a team and enjoy the sport of swimming.

Our team competes against local swim clubs in the Freestate Swim League, including Campus Cabana, Eagles Nest, Hampton, Stoneleigh, Valley, Wiltondale, Woodcroft and York Manor. Meets are held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. During home meets, the pool will close at 4:30 p.m. for members.

For those not quite ready for the swim team, swim lessons are available to help prepare children and adults feel comfortable and confident in the water.

Our Swim Team Coaches

Eva Joyce

Head Coach

Eva, her husband, Mark and their 4 children have been a part of the Pine Ridge community for the past 22 years. All 4 of her children have participated on the swim team in past years, and Eva was also a Pine Ridge Pirahna in her youth, specializing in the free style and the breaststroke. Eva brings a wealth of teaching, coaching and athletic experience to the team. She has been a Baltimore County Public School teacher for the past 27 years and has many years of experience coaching youth lacrosse and basketball.

Lauren S.

Assistant Coach 11 and up

She is a senior in high school and has been invested in swimming for 15 years. She began swimming at the age of 3 for Pine Ridge Swim Club and continued her year-round training with The Y in Central Maryland (YCM) following the summer seasons. Lauren is also a very dedicated dancer at Loch Raven Dance Troupe where she has been able to engage with a variety of ages and personalities! When away from the pool and the stage, Lauren enjoys spending her time with family and friends. She is very excited to meet everyone on the swim team and is looking forward to being one of the assistant coaches this season! Go piranhas

Lydia Walker

Assistant Coach 10 and under

She will be our 10 and under Assistant Coach. She is a senior at Towson High School and has been swimming at Merritt year round since she was 11. This fall she will be going to Skidmore College to continue swimming. She grew up on the Pine Ridge team, and it’s the reason she discovered that swimming is probably her favorite thing to do! She also enjoys hiking, reading, and listening to music (especially Taylor Swift).
